O professor Gallo fundou e desenvolveu o College's Liberal Arts: Theatre Arts - Associate in The Arts Option. Ele é um vencedor do NISOD Excellence Award e o ganhador do Kennedy Center Prize for Innovating Teaching in Theatre.

Profissionalmente, ele é dramaturgo, produtor, ator, cineasta e diretor. Suas peças incluem: Yuppies Invade My House at Dinnertime, The Playbill Gallery (uma história de amor), Long Gone Daddy, My Italy Story, New York City 523, Two-Man Kidnapping Rule, Warning: Adult Content e Staten Island. 

Participante frequente do The Moth em Nova York, ele fez turnê com o The Moth Mainstage Ensemble e apareceu no The Moth Podcast e no The Moth Radio Hour.
